I have a Hypo thyroid, level is at 11.5. I am allergic to three thyroid pills, my throat closes up and I developed a goiter. Endocrinologist said to stay off them and he will monitor me. What can I do to help thyroid levels?
Knowing your TSH level is only part of the story. It would be helpful to know your free T3 and free T4 levels as this is more accurate than the TSH.Trying compounded T3/T4, lugol’s solution (iodine) or homeopathic thyroid are excellent alternatives. Specific nutrients like l-tyrosine and pyridoxyl 5 phosphate can also nurture your thyroid gland. Most important however is to optimize adrenal function as the adrenal and thyroid glands are always compensating for each other. The emotional connection to thyroid imbalance is to our ability to know and to speak our truth. The thyroid sits in the neck, very vulnerable gland and is the bridge between our brain (ego) and our heart (spirit). An imbalance in the gland can be reflective of a need to blend the two aspects of self. Whatever you use, please do so under the supervision of a physician.
