How important is it to get 8 hours of sleep each night?
It is essential to get at least eight hours of sleep each night! Sleep is the only time the body restores and regenerates itself. Without it, the body is in a constant mode of breakdown. When we are awake - living our lives, eating, breathing, exercising, working, thinking either silently or out loud - we are in a “using up energy” mode. When we sleep, we are in a “building up energy” mode. Without it, we are driving our health into the ground.
