I suffer terrible allergies and right now they are acting up intolerably – what can I do?
Although your allergies may be seasonal, the cause is not the external environment. The cause of allergies is the internal environment (your body) is congested and the “straw that broke the camel’s back” is the environmental burden of pollen. By unloading the congestion in your body, you can then tolerate the environment instead of inflaming to it. Symbolically allergies is your bodies way of saying “I can’t take any more” and it either stuffs up to block it or it drains to try to unload in order to make room for the exposure. Allergies begin in the gut. If your digestive function wasn’t compromised, it would be absorbing nutrients to allow your cells to work perfectly and it would be eliminating waste efficiently without backing up of inflammatory substances. Although having regular bowel movements is the first goal, avoiding inflammatory foods is the fastest way to decrease inflammation in your body. You can have your food allergies tested for the most direct approach as each of us have unique sensitivities. I’ll give you a hint though, what we eat most often are usually our biggest triggers. Start by drinking ½ your body weight in ounces of water daily, eat lots of colorful vegetables, and avoid all grains until your inflammatory response settles down.
