Vitality and Prevention Start at the Level of the Cell
Do you know your cellular age? Are you doing everything you can to prevent degenerative aging? Do you experience day to day symptoms that you’ve “learned to accept” as normal? Do you have health goals you are unable to attain although it seems that you are doing everything right? Are you experiencing optimal health now and looking for more things you can do to contribute to your overall creation of well being?
If you can say yes to any of the questions above, you can do a simple, inexpensive, non-invasive test that takes less than 5 minutes to do, so that you can get a glance of the health of the cells in your body. Each health parameter marker compares your scores with optimal scores for your age and gender. If you want to improve upon any of the numbers, you can use the nutritional or supplemental suggestions.
With this test (BioImpedence Analysis, or BIA), there are 6 parameters that we measure:
- Cellular Age
- Cell Membrane Health
- Detoxification Potential
- Body Composition (lean vs. fat tissue)
- Cellular Hydration
- Overall Hydration
If your results are all within the ideal range, you can enhance them as your results have a baseline ideal that has a limitless cap. Each value will say that your ideal score should be > or < a particular number. This gives you a continuous ability to improve your scores, which are reflective of cellular health, which in turn is reflective of your overall health. We know that 70% of our health today, and as we age, is reflective of our lifestyle and only 30% is reflective of our genetics. Lifestyle means:
- Nutrition
- Quality of sleep
- Quality of living – stress or stress-free, choosing to be in “ease” or in “dis (lack) of ease”
- Exercise
- Using quality supplements to advance biochemistry and physiology at all ages
- Hormonal balance for both men and women of all ages
Each marker of health on the BIA can improve with the following suggestions:
- Cellular Age – This marker will improve as all the other markers improve. It is a reflection of all aspects of wellbeing, not just one.
- Cell Membrane Health – Each cell membrane (the covering of each cell) plays many vital roles:
- Keeps cells intact, preventing cancerous cells which occur when cell membranes breakdown
- Keeps cells fluid and flexible
- It is where our receptors are that allow our hormones to create an optimal metabolism
In order to improve Cell Membrane Health, consider the following suggestions:
- Eat less processed foods as they break cell membranes down.
- Eat more unsaturated fats like fish, olive oil, avocados and coconut oil.
- Use essential fatty acid supplementation like a high quality fish oil supplement, evening primrose oil, borage oil, or flax oil.
- Detoxification Potential – Every cell detoxifies naturally. The higher the number, the greater the ability of each cell to protect itself from oxidation/breakdown/death. To improve your Detoxification Potential consider:
- Eating less processed foods.
- Eat more whole foods as close to nature as possible.
- Drink lots of unadulterated drinks like water and herbal teas.
- Use antioxidant supplements like Antioxidant Defense and Detox II.
- Use detoxification powders like the Complete Meal.
- Body Composition – This is the most important reflection of vitality. The more lean tissue you have, the more live cells in your body. The more fat cells you have, the more inactive and lifeless cells that you have. Ways to enhance lean body tissue is to use all steps already listed above and:
- Make sure you are getting enough protein in your natural diet.
- Exercise daily, making sure that you are getting at least ½ hour of resistance training every other day.
- Cellular Hydration – While you are working on improving all of your markers, if your intracellular fluid is lower than it should be your efforts will be in vain. Think of this, if your cells are not adequately hydrated, that means only one thing – you are accumulating water outside of the cell. This excess fluid ends up acting as a dam that prevents nutrients from getting into your cells and, at the same time, prevents waste from exiting the cells efficiently. Improving cellular hydration first will allow all other markers to improve more quickly. There are two vital nutrients that assist in enhancing this – minerals and enzymes:
- Minerals – These are found predominantly in fruits and vegetables. If you want to use a mineral supplement you can do one or both options listed below.
- The first is to put colloidal minerals in all the water you drink. Through osmosis, solvents (water) follow solutes (minerals) into the cell.
- You can also take a mineral capsule. We have a Complete Mineral Complex capsule, Rejuv-a-Bone, that contains all the minerals for bone remineralization along with silica and vitamin D; and another very popular and effective capsule is a combination of potassium and magnesium – the most deficient minerals across the board.
- Enzymes – These are also found predominantly in fruits and vegetables. If you want to use enzyme supplements you can use one or both options.
- The first one is to use enzymes to help you digest food with meals (Digest Well, Similase, PanPlex). This not only helps prevent and treat bloating, diarrhea and constipation, it helps to break your nutrients into very small particles before they are absorbed into your blood stream, minimizing systemic inflammation.
- The other way to support enzyme systems is to use systemic enzymes that you would take on an empty stomach. This way they aren’t used to digest food, they go into your system to digest systemic inflammation and assists in waste removal. Zenzymes work great or you can take your favorite digestive enzymes on an empty stomach.
- Minerals – These are found predominantly in fruits and vegetables. If you want to use a mineral supplement you can do one or both options listed below.
- Overall Hydration – The most abundant substance in our body is water. We should all be 60% water. If you simply increase water and nothing else, it will go through you. Using the suggestions above allows the water to go into you.
What’s so exciting about this? The test is simple and inexpensive. It can be used month to month or year to year to assist you in making changes to support ideal health. This gives you the patient an active role to play in your health care. This gives you direct, individual guidance about the things you can do to improve your health beginning today and lasting a lifetime.
Enjoy your lifetime ride of well being.
