BHRT Program

If you desire becoming part of Dr. Ramsey’s BHRT program, call to speak to a member of our staff. Our trained assistants will explore any questions that you have regarding this program and then help get you started on your vibrant aging process.

  1. The first appointment you will need is for your blood draw that you will come fasting for (which means no food or drink from midnight the night before). Testing includes your hormone and pre-hormone levels, your ability to clear hormones safely from your system, baseline cholesterol, thyroid, CBC, kidney and liver function, and pap smear. The cost of the testing is $725.
  2. a. If you menstruate regularly, plan your blood draw for about one week before your next anticipated menstrual cycle. Remember to mark on your calendar the day you started your cycle as it will be important for interpreting your results.

    b. If you menstruate irregularly, get your blood drawn at any time, remembering to write down when you started your cycle if it comes before our first visit.c.

    c. If you don’t menstruate for any reason (hysterectomy, natural menopause or uterine ablation), get your blood drawn at any time.

    d. If you are taking hormones at this time, do not take hormones on the day of your blood draw until after your blood is drawn.

    e. If you receive Hormone Pellet Implants, schedule your blood draw for 1 week prior to your next anticipated implant.

  3. Set up an appointment for your first office visit as well, which needs to be at least three weeks from getting your blood drawn. The cost of your initial visit is $250. Your visit will be for one hour with the program administrator. They will review all of your results at this visit and begin a treatment plan that she has created along with Dr. Ramsey.
  4. Prior to your initial visit, you will also need to have the following tests done and results either sent to our office or bring them in with you to our first visit.
  5. a. Mammogram

    b. Bone density test if you are 40 years old or older or younger than 40 with a family history of osteoporosis

    c. Recent uterine ultrasound

    i. If you need requisitions for any of the above tests, a staff doctor will order these for you.

    ii. If another doctor has ordered these tests you can sign a records release from our office so that we have access to them.

  6. You will need a ½ hour follow-up appointment after one month of starting your program. The cost for this visit is $70. It is typical to need one month follow-ups for 2-3 months as your prescriptions may need altering.

To remain in the program, testing is done yearly, unless otherwise indicated.
