Spring has Sprung!

Spring is here and we can all smell the sweetness of the blossoms that bless this beautiful desert.

Well maybe not “we all” because many people cannot smell the sweetness as the allergy medications can block our sense of smell while taking them.

Since we are not yet through this season as it will go until June when things really start to heat up I’d like to make some suggestions that you may not have thought of before to treat allergies. The first thing would be to remove the most common inflammatory foods from your nutrition until allergies are over: Dairy, Eggs, Soy and Gluten (and alcohol) while drinking your body weight in ounces of water per day.

Removing these may not be easy, but if you can at least lower your intake, your entire system will be less inflamed and able to work with the nutrients I will suggest.

There are two products that our patients prefer to use during allergy season. I have heard that in just 4 days or less their allergy symptoms lessen or go away completely. One product is a homeopathic remedy, meaning energy rather than elemental support. In this liquid vial there exists a vibration of each plant that is blooming in the desert right now. When we put the drops under our tongue and let them dissolve we are “retraining” our immune system to recognize and not to inflame to the pollen. It helps us “become one” with our environment without inflaming to it. This can be used frequently throughout the day and once your body is not inflaming anymore, just 1-2 doses a day is enough to maintain ease rather than inflammation in sinuses and lungs. Another supplement that works really well if taken correctly is called All Arrest. There is a loading dose with these capsules: 3 caps taken 4 times per day for the first 4 days (with or without food). After 4 days most patients notice significant improvement and then we all drop back to a maintenance dose that works, typically 2 daily, or whatever dose your body needs to stay calm to the environment. I’d love to hear from you about your results with this protocol.

Let’s all enjoy spring for its amazing scents, the colorful flowerings and the slightly cooler than summer days without inflammation or side effects from typical allergy medications. In addition, we have an anti-inflammatory IV with glutathione and lymphomyosat (flushes lymph so waste is removed more effortlessly throughout the body) that can help if we are suffering in an acute allergy misery.

Summary:

  • Avoid inflammatory foods
  • Drink your body weight in ounces of water per day
  • Southwest allergy drops – 1 dropper under tongue 3 times daily and more if needed
  • All Arrest – 3 caps 4 times per day for 4 days then maintain on the dosage your body needs

I have had unexplainable edema in my feet for almost 10 years now that comes & goes. I have had extensive tests done. Kidney, liver, etc, seen a nutritional therapist for years, checked for allergies, on whole food supplements you name it. No one has been able to pinpoint the cause of my edema in my ankles and feet. Could be hormones thyroid etc. Tested thyroid it is normal, hormone levels normal aswell and wonderful at age 47. Still fertile according to my gynecologist, but I suspect hormone imbalance and some liver detoxification issues. At age 46 suddenly started cramping with heavy periods and recently found out 3 very very tiny insignificant fibroids and low ferritin levels due to the heavy bleeding resulting in low iron and anemia. However the edema started years before these symptoms. I am exhausted and I am miserable because i can’t always wear my favorite shoes due to rhe puffiness. I miss seeing my ankles. Could also be poor venus sufficiency and lymphatic system. I accidently embarked upin Dr. Ramseys website. This is my last resort. If she can figure out the cause of my EDEMA she will be an answer to prayer. How can I get in touch with her. My cell number is 206 841 7133.

Edema is pooled fluid outside of the cells. This can be caused by foods that swell us like – grains. As we age grains are extremely hard on our systems especially the GMO grains – YUCK! It’s hard to eat out and not get exposed to these grains. So I suggest that you study and practice Paleo as a starting point. The woman who wrote the book Everyday Paleo – Sarah Fragaso – explains how her ankles were always swollen until she changed her nutrition. ALSO – thyroid deficiency can cause inefficient fluid removal as well. Normal and Optimal thyroid labs are totally different topics. My patients who take thyroid have “normal” labs when we start and can’t believe the difference thyroid makes in aging bodies. Aging is over 40 or younger based on hysterectomy or not.
